Apparently Gary is retiring and the site is coming down. This is so sad.
If you were planning to purchase any DVD's, do it today.

I'm studying workplace bullying these days. I didn't have a name for it during the first year and some months of happenings which were initiating and educating me rather painfully. Then just last week I came across the Workplace Bullying Institute site online. There were the symptoms, roles, terminology, and studies which validated my experience and helped me feel less isolated and discouraged. I learned that "Target" is not the same as "victim," and that it's typical for workplace bullies to target co-workers like me who are just doing a good job and happy in their workplace (used to be happy). On the one hand I'm grateful for the experience that has led to a much better understanding of certain human social patterns - this allows me to recognize and help others in the same situation. On the other hand, I'm ready for it to be over. The ideal would be for everyone involved to say - "Oh! Workplace bullying - Oh dear! Let's all get conscious and stop this drama!" But people and offices have their own rates of growth and change, and that must be respected. Bullying the bully is not an option if it's a raise in consciousness we're after. My hope is to turn the experiences of the last year and a half into better awareness for the whole system: better guidelines for supervisors and co-workers, better training for supervisors, and questionnaires which can help in co-worker bully-target and mobbing situations. That's a tall order, but doable, I believe. There are so many dysfunctional workplaces, with an estimated 37 % of workers being targeted by bullies. I've experienced first-hand the physical, psychological, emotional and social effects of this phenomenon. I've worked with my prayer group and used mantras, the St. Francis Prayer for Peace; I've used EFT and have been seeing a Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique practitioner, and all have helped - BUT there's more! I'm definitely ready to transform it all into something useful and helpful for the whole. Now I'm hopeful that other Gather members with similar experience may have stories to tell, help to share - and that we can all benefit from better understanding through each other. The Questionnaire:
Note: The similarity between being the Target of a workplace bully and being a Target because of race or gender or any other reason, is great. This article from the EFT site's archives will interest some who are suffering from PTSD from similar situations, or who know someone who is: How Racisim Can Lead to Health Problems and What to Do About It, by Paul Zelizer. As you may know, I am a Naturopath so I love to learn new alternative modalities and pass that on to my clients. The one that I really think should be taught and shared with every person on the planet is EFT. Emotional Freedom Technique
If you haven't heard of it, check it out. It has to be the most simple thing I have ever learned and the best part is that it totally works.
I don't know if I can share it here so if you would like more information email me and I will get it to you asap. There is a link on the site where you can watch a video demonstration and download a free manual. Anyway, I have been feeling really uneasy and anxious since last night and it just finally dawned on me to do a couple of rounds of EFT and I already feel better. I need to listen to myself more often... ;)

Hi! I am Doc, a semi-retired public health specialist. I have been using & practicing EFT for almost 4 years now. I use it to help control when I feel the need to respond to situations that could or would trigger my PTSD. I also use it to assist me with keeping my BG’s down as I am a Type-2 diabetic. Hi! I am an educator who, through inspired action from reading a lot of spiritual books, found EFT a couple of years ago. I bought the DVDs and starting learning. Most of my work has been on myself, family and friends, but I do lead a weekly support group on "Harnessing the Power of EFT and Law of Attraction to Finding the Thin Within" on a membership site for losing weight called ThinWithinU.com. This is in my "spare time" with my day job in academia. I blog and write in my spare time, too. I call myself "The Spirited Strider."
I am toying with the idea of a coaching business where EFT is one technique within it, but haven't officially launched anything (but I've had a few "clients" already). I'm no master EFTer, but I do consider myself a practitioner AND a student. I believe in life-long learning, which is why I love education so much! There is always something to learn from others and I love soaking up new techniques and tips. I love my life but I want more. So I'm using EFT to uncover and release resistance on a whole lot of issues. I do have a background in Counseling which I find initially served me, but now it's so much easier (and faster) just to tap on it and let it go! I love meeting other EFT-lovers, learners and teachers. I am not on this site very much so if it takes me awhile to respond to you, that's why. I'm getting ready to travel for an extended period of time, too. Warmly, Barbara

Hi, Barbara - I've been thinking about starting a self-healing support group for those who are learning EFT - so hearing about what you're doing is encouraging. I'm still learning about all my various forms of resistance - lol! - but that is a lifelong set of lessons, from what I see, as we expand our understanding..... Anyway, best wishes for all you're doing.

Wow - I love this conversation space.
I'm a 62-yr-old grandma of 8 so far. I'm trained as a shamanic healer. I've been working on myself and on various situations with EFT for a few months now, and find it so practical I want to include it in our "whole living" skills that we're teaching in the Heart of Joy Folkschool a group of us are developing here in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Btw Sandy: big connection between fibro and proper oxygenation. Did your 3-month-old self start breathing shallowly after the accident? Do you know about soul retrieval? Sometimes with a trauma like this, a part of your soul leaves - but it can be brought back, healed, and reinstalled. Email me.

Well, I'll bet he's going to get really good at tapping for himself (and remembering for you!). (c:* |
